Dr Stephen Kennedy, a WHO-affiliated scientist and the leader of the GSK Ebola vaccine trial, has expressed frustration that Liberians are not “excited” about being used as guinea pigs in what is perhaps the biggest and most dangerous vaccine trial since the Nazi’s experimented on thousands of concentration camp prisoners in the Second World War.
In an attack on a Liberian representative who has asked for an investigation into whether the risks of the GSK Ebola experimental vaccine are being adequately explained to people, Kennedy claimed that the 42 adverse events recorded so far among the very small pool of 108 participants are normal.
